Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA)
Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA or PVOH) is a water-soluble thermoplastic synthetic resin that one of its applications is using in formulating waterborne adhesives. This vinyl polymer has excellent adhesion, high resistance to grease and oil, film forming and emulsifying properties. It is often added to Polyvinyl Acetate emulsions to slow down the speed of set and to improve flexibility and tack.
Polychloroprene Rubber
Polychloroprene Rubber known as Neoprene is a family of synthetic rubbers. In adhesive and sealant industry they are widely used in both solvent-based and water-based contact adhesives. These polymers feature excellent adhesion, high bonding strength, and good resistance to flame, chemical and oil.
Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) Homopolymer
Polyvinyl Acetate (PVA) homopolymer has strong adhesion properties and is used as wood glues or school glues for porous materials like wood, paper, and cloth. Polyvinyl acetate-based systems are generally used for interior applications. Their advantages include ease of application, water cleanup, printability, and good adhesion to most substrates.
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA)
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) copolymer has many industrial applications; in adhesive and sealant industry it is the most common polymer used in hot melt adhesives. This copolymer provides good low temperature flexibility and good chemical resistance.
Chlorinated Rubber
Chlorinated Rubber features excellent adhesion properties and good resistance to moisture and chemicals. This product is used in many adhesives and sealants formulations. In adhesive formulations, chlorinated rubber is used to bond natural and synthetic rubbers to metals. As an effective bonding agent, it is added in small quantities to contact adhesives and also to rubber-to-metal bonding agents for improving the adhesion properties. Chlorinated rubber is also used as a common primer for formulating various sealants used in applications where adhesion of the sealant to the material is important.
Polyester Polyol
Polyester Polyols are polymeric polyols that can be used in manufacturing various products such as rigid and flexible foams, surface and fabric coatings, industrial coatings, inks and castable elastomers, etc. In adhesive and sealant industry, polyester polyols are mainly used in manufacturing polyurethane adhesives and sealants. Polyester-based polyurethane adhesives and sealants feature improved UV resistance, excellent resistance to fuels and oils, and good tensile and tear strength.
